"This is one of my floral paintings from the Solar Series that I completed last winter. I was so tired of gray skies and gloomy weather, so I painted a series of flowers with a strong orange light. After completing this series I literally became addicited to using this strong, golden orange light on most of my paintings. This Calla Lily painting was instrumental for me in developing my current palette. By the way, the fish is symbolic. It became apparent after I began painting that this animal needed a place to exist. I didn't exactly plan it, but I did allow it come foward from the background. For me, it symbolizes the link between land (cally lily) and sea (fish) ." -- Cindy
