Bio
I was born in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina on January 7, 1968. I was raised in a military family. My father is an American and my mother is German. I am the second to the youngest of 5 children. I spent 6 years of my childhood playing cowboys and Indians in the hills of Fort Riley, Kansas which is the home of General George Custer. I always played the Indian.
I spent the rest of my childhood until age 13 in military bases throughout Germany. In 1981, my parents divorced and I was the only sibling to return to America with my father. I spent my teenage years in Cordele Georgia traveling back to Europe to visit.
My passion for art began at a young age. My father always brought me home comic books. I would spend hours drawing my own heroes. As I grew older and traveled to Europe, I was struck by the art culture and history which surrounded me. Today, I can say that I was influenced by M.C. Esher, Monet, Manet, Van Gogh, Chagall, Matisse, and especially Leonardo DaVinci, Michelangelo, Picasso, and Salvador Dali.
Today I live in Albany, Georgia with my wife and two children. I have no formal training in art. I always tell people it is a God given talent. I paint what I see. I paint things that happen or have happened throughout history. I fell that my paintings should be viewed by the world, probably when I'm dead and gone, as instruments of good and that world governments can learn from the stories within the paintings.
War should never be an option on this planet God has created. So, I will continue to paint what I see -- trying to make a difference on canvas at a time.
